$17,000,000,000,000 and counting
My Thoughts: I recently saw a news article about Chinese construction firms (subsidized by Chinese government, which makes them more competitive) out bidding American owned firms for many of the infrastructure projects (financed by our borrowing of money from China) that are going on in our country to "Revitalize" our economy.
I also just read how we have soldiers (fathers, sons, mothers, daughters, brothers and sisters) fighting on one side of a mountain in Afghanistan (financed by our borrowing of money from China) while Chinese miners harvest rich natural resources on the other side. Where is the common sense in all of this?
Our Federal Government must quit spending more of "our" money than they are taking from us by eliminating entire departments within our Federal Government, earmarks for pet projects, and we have to start spending what money we do have more wisely.
The more I read and study in preparation to run for office to represent you, the more I realize the monumental tasks that lie before us and just how out of control and how totally out of touch our Federal Government has become.
Struggle points as I understand them:
The thought that we can spend our way out of a recession.
Federal dollars channeled to special interest groups who make large campaign contributions.
Entitlements that we can no longer afford.
A Federal Government that has taken way too much control of our sovereignty.
Lack of skilled tradesmen.
I support: Balanced budgets achieved by reducing the size and reach of our Federal Government. At the same time we must cut taxes on small and large business which will decrease unemployment and increase overall tax revenue. I would also push for enforcement of an already existent law prohibiting the use of federal monies for infrastructure projects to foreign companies.
